Cinque Terre
Are you a nature lover and foodie? Then your ideal choice could be a protected natural park named Cinque Terre (Five Lands). The UNESCO World Heritage Site contains just five ingeniously-constructed seaside villages connected by a 19th-century railway line that cuts through a series of coastal tunnels, and also a network of footpaths offering a perfect adventure for hiking enthusiasts.
Cinque Terre's five villages date from the early medieval period. Their unique historical draw is a complicated system of fields and gardens that have been hacked, chiseled, shaped and layered over the course of nearly two millennia on terraces carved into the steep cliffs. The extensive muretti (low stone walls) can be compared to the Great Wall of China in their grandeur and scope.
Your wedding will be accentuated with incredible hiking fun and indulgence in the local cuisine. This region is renowned for its anchovies, pesto and fresh delicious seafood. You and your loved one can grab an espresso and farinata and watch the sun rise over the Mediterranean, then say “I do” on a mountain overlooking a vineyard with the pristine sea in the background. The ideal time of year for getting married is May, June, or September through mid-October.
